Mumbai – “A Muslim Central Board should be established in the country, which includes people who have a passion for sacrifice. All Muslims should blindly accept the decisions of this board”, Maulana Tauqeer Raza, President of the Ittihad-e-Millat Council, said at an event. Several leaders and Muslim clerics, including Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi, were present on this occasion. The event was titled ‘Muslim Leadership Summit 2024’, chaired by Maulana Khalil-ur-Rahman Sajjad Nomani Nadvi. The event was organised by the Muslim Welfare Association.
Muslims are being turned into second-class citizens
Tauqeer Raza added that Muslims should worry about preserving their existence. He alleged that Muslims are being turned into second-class citizens in the country and expressed sorrow over the lack of honour and respect for Muslims in the country. “It is very sad that Muslims are accused of Love Jihad, and it is of greatest concern that this country has fallen into the hands of irresponsible people”, he said.
Shia cleric Saif Abbas criticised Raza’s statements, saying that while Raza maybe correct, he should first step forward himself, visit every Muslim household, and then speak. Abbas also remarked that while it is true that Muslims currently do not have a single leader, and there cannot be just one leader, the concept of ‘Love Jihad’ does not exist. (If that is the case, then why do Muslim youth lure Hindu girls by hiding their identities and claim to be Hindus ? Why do they convert Hindu girls to Islam and forcibly marry them ? Why is Abbas silent on these questions ? Why does he not condemn the Muslim youth who engage in such actions ? – Editor)
