New Delhi – According to a 2019 report by the Pew Research Center, approximately 23% of adults in the United States, which equates to around 1.3 million Muslims, have left Islam. Of these adults, about 7% mentioned that they disagreed with the teachings of Islam.

2. 1 lakh people left Islam annually in United Kingdom A significant number of people in UK are leaving Islam. According to The Times, around 1 lakh people leave Islam each year.
3. Even in Muslim-majority countries like Iran, Muslims are leaving Islam. In 2023, a religious leader in Iran admitted that members of the Bakhtiari tribe are converting to Zoroastrianism, and many others have converted to Christianity.
4. The largest survey on religious beliefs in the Middle East was conducted between 1981 and 2020. A survey conducted by the University of Michigan, revealed that in countries like Tunisia, Morocco, and Iraq, people who once followed Islam now identify as atheists.
5. In many Muslim-majority countries, leaving Islam can result in severe punishment. Although many individuals still outwardly appear Muslim, it cannot be said with certainty that they are truly practicing Muslims.
Approximately 43% of Muslims in Lebanon do not practice Islam at home
In Lebanon, approximately 43% of people admitted that they do not practice Islam at home or in their personal lives. This report was compiled by the research organisation Arab Barometer, which surveyed around 25,000 people.
