Dhaka – Protests and violence have continued in Bangladesh with fresh demands after the overthrow of the Sheikh Hasina Government and the establishment of an interim Government. In Bangladesh, thousands of students took to the streets on 15thAugust to mark ‘Mourning Day’. Thousands of students from various student groups protested at Shaheed Minar in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. This time, they demanded that former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina be brought back to the country and prosecuted.
The History of Bangladesh will be written based on Islam : Jamaat-e-Islami
The students of the Jamaat-e-Islami organisation, who are boycotting Bangladesh’s ‘Mourning Day’, said that a new history of Bangladesh would be written, in which it would not be identified with Bangabandhu, but with Islam. Protesters also besieged Sheikh Hasina’s house. There was violence in many places. Awami workers were beaten up.
