Clarification given by the US
Washington (USA) – Karin Jean Pierre, the Press Secretary of the White House, which is the office of the President of the United States, has said in a press conference that the United States is not involved in the ousting of Sheikh Hasina. Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina alleged that if she had relinquished control of St. Martin’s Island in Bangladesh and allowed the US to establish dominance over the Bay of Bengal, she would have stayed in power. Pierre has denied the allegation. He said, ‘We have no involvement in the political instability in Bangladesh. The news that the US administration is involved in these incidents is completely false.’
Karin Jean Pierre further said that it is her privilege to decide the future of the people of Bangladesh. Choosing their leader is an important decision for the people of Bangladesh. We believe that the people of Bangladesh should decide the future of their Government. All we can say about any kind of allegations is that there is absolutely no truth in them.
Sheikh Hasina’s son also rejected the US claim
On the other hand, Sheikh Hasina’s son Sajib Wajed also said, ‘My mother has not made any such statement. She told me that she did not give any speech before or after she left Dhaka’, he explained.
Editorial PerspectiveLooking at the US’ history and present, who would believe that ? The US will never accept that it had a hand in this. |
