68 lakh ‘Tramadol’ tablets worth Rs 110 crore seized at Mundra port (Gujarat)

Kutch – The customs department has seized 68 lakh ‘Tramadol’ pills from two containers at Mundra port in Kutch District of Gujarat. They are reportedly worth Rs 110 crore. The drug was being exported to the West African countries of Sierra Leone and Niger. Tramadol is known as a fighter drug. Islamic State terrorists use these pills to stay up late.

After the customs department officials found the pills in the front part of the container, it was thoroughly verified. A medicine box with fake label ‘Tramaking-225’ and ‘Royal-225’ was found. Both contained 225 mg Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets. There were no manufacturer details on this box.

In this matter, the search is on in Rajkot, Gandhinagar and Gandhidham. There is a huge demand for ‘Synthetic Opioid’ drugs in the African countries of Niger and Ghana.
