Moscow – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to Russia and Austria. When he arrived in Moscow on 8th July, he was given a grand welcome. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov welcomed PM Modi. PM Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin on the night of 8th July. Putin praised PM Modi’s contribution to India’s development and said, “You (PM Modi) have dedicated your entire life to the people of India. You have ideas of your own. You are an enthusiastic person. You have always achieved results that are in the interest of India and Indians. Its results are visible. India is the third largest economy in the world at present.” In response, PM Modi said, “People of India have given me another opportunity to serve the motherland. My only goal is to serve the people and the country.”
The two world leaders held informal talks over tea at the President’s residence. This will further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. This is PM Modi’s first visit to Russia during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
