Fake nude pictures of over 150 women from Kerala circulated on Instagram

Kasargod – In a shocking case from Kasargod District in Kerala, three Christian youths have been arrested for using artificial intelligence (AI) to create and circulate nude pictures of over 150 women from their village on Instagram. The accused have been identified as Justin Jacob, Abin Joseph, and Shibin Lukos. They have been doing this for the last one and a half years.

The trio took pictures of women whose images were not available on social media. They had captured photographs of at least 40 female students who studied with them and created their nude pictures. They also targeted women going to church for Sunday prayers. This act has spread panic among the women of the village.

The incident came to light when a friend of Shibin Lukos saw an obscene photograph of one of his relatives on Shibin’s mobile phone. Upon further inspection, he discovered hundreds of such nude photographs. The friend immediately informed the Police, leading to the arrest of the three accused. The Police registered a case against the accused under Section 67 of the IT Act, which deals with publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form. Further investigation is ongoing.
