Women from a Kashmiri Hindu family brutally assaulted in Anantnag, Kashmir

Srinagar – Peace prevails in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370. The resettlement of displaced Kashmiri Hindus has started gradually. Sanjay Wali, a Kashmiri Hindu and his family returned to Anantnag after many years and started building a house on their land at Verinag. Family’s fears of the past few years were vanished; but within 24 hours after the Lok Sabha election results were announced, Wali’s family members were beaten up. They were also threatened to leave the valley. The video of this incident has been circulated on social media and many people are expressing their displeasure about this incident. (It is shameful for the Police and the Administration – Editor).

Sanjay Wali highlighted that his family was assaulted after the Lok Sabha election result was declared on 4thJune. Some people arrived at his house and misbehaved with his family as well as thrashed them. The house they built was demolished and building material was thrown away. “I fear repetition of 1990’s incidents,” Wali said.

What happened in 1990 ?

In 1990, Kashmiri Hindus were beheaded by jihadi terrorists in Kashmir. A large number of Hindus were massacred there. Many Hindu women were raped. Many temples were demolished. In the end, Hindus had to leave everything and flee Kashmir to save their lives. During this period, an estimated four lakh Kashmiri Hindus had to leave their homes and become refugees in their own country.

Editorial Perspective

This proves that Jihadi terrorism still exists in Kashmir. When is the Government going to completely eradicate jihadi terrorism ?
