Upon its election to the Security Council, Pakistan once again raised the Kashmir issue. Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, outlined their priorities, which include promoting peace and security in South Asia, upholding the principle of self-determination for the people of Palestine and Kashmir, supporting normalisation in Afghanistan, and enhancing security in Africa.
Editorial Perspective
