Gadchiroli – The Police thwarted a Naxalite plan to extort money by calling a meeting of tendu leaves contractors, destroying the Naxal base in the process. During the encounter, lethal explosives were neutralised on the spot. The soldiers gave a fitting reply to the Naxalite gunfire. This incident occurred on the evening of 5thJune in the dense forests near Savargaon on the Chhattisgarh border. The Police, along with C-60 commandos, conducted the anti-Naxalite operation. Due to the dense forest and darkness, the Naxalites managed to escape.
