New Delhi – Senior Congress leader and Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor’s personal aide Shiv Kumar has been arrested in connection with gold smuggling. The Customs Department took action against Shiv Kumar at Terminal-3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport here on the evening of 29th May. A total of 500 gram of gold has been seized from him.
The customs department nabbed Shiv Kumar, who had returned from Dubai and was transferring gold from an acquaintance who had returned from abroad. It cost Rs 55 lakh. When officials asked about this gold, Shiv Kumar could not provide any concrete information. After this he was arrested. 2 more persons have also been arrested in this case.
