Strict rules for Indian tourists at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports

  • It is mandatory to have Rs 68,000 in the bank account, as well as the return ticket
  • UAE stated those who come on tourist visas start working

Abu Dhabi (UAE) – Strict rules have been implemented for Indian tourists travelling to Dubai and Abu Dhabi by air. According to the new rules, tourists are required to have Rs 68,000 in their bank account or credit card and a return ticket. Passengers who do not meet these conditions are sent back to India from Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports itself.

In the year 2023, 1.19 crore Indian tourists visited Dubai.

The UAE Government department said the new rules could stop the misuse of ‘tourist visas’. In some cases, people go to Dubai-Abu Dhabi on a ‘Tourist Visa’ and start working. In some cases, some people do not have money to fall back on; so they are deported. Due to this, travellers going there for tourism must have the necessary documents and show how much money is left in the bank. Apart from this, the Hotel reservation documents are also required.

If the tourist is visiting a family member, he has to provide the address, contact number and other details of the family member. A large number of tourists, mainly from the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, are being checked here.

The UAE Government has also warned airlines that they will be fined if non-compliant tourists arrive on their flights.

An estimated 3.5 million Indians live in the United Arab Emirates. This number is 30% of their country’s total population and has the largest number of Indians in any country. Along with this, the United Arab Emirates is the fourth largest supplier of oil to India after Russia, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
