Deputy Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres Farhan Haq cited the example of Turkey changing its name to Turkiye and the United Nations agreeing to the formal request, reported PTI.
An official invitation has been shared by BJP’s Spokesperson Sambit Patra on X about the PM’s visit, where he is referred to as ‘Bharat’s Prime Minister’.
The President’s English invitation sent to the Heads of Nations participating in the summit reads ‘President of Bharat’. Until now it used to be, ‘President of India’, but for the first time it has been written ‘President of Bharat’.
BJP MP Harnath Singh Yadav said that even people should use the word ‘Bharat’ for our country. The energy given by the word Bharat is not experienced in the word ‘India’.
It is not enough to just talk about positive things. In the absence of disruptive intervention (removing anti narratives), the positives die down.
A demand for such change need not be made rather the Indian Government should change country’s name immediately to conserve Bharatiya identity.
Indians think that the Government should officially declare India as ‘Bharat’.
