
Bengaluru – Abdul Mateen Taha and Musavir Hussain, who carried out the Rameshwaram Cafe blasts in Bengaluru, used Hindu identities. The investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that these terrorists used Hindu names to live and move around in different places. Abdul Mateen Taha had assumed Hindu names like Vignesh D, Sumit.
1. NIA has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh on both of them. Together, these two carried out a blast at the Rameswaram Cafe in Bengaluru in March 2023.
2. Earlier, NIA had arrested one of the accused in this case, Mujammil Sharif. He is accused of helping Abdul Mateen Taha and Muwasir Hussain escape. He had also supplied bomb-making materials to these terrorists. He is currently in the custody of the NIA and his investigation is going on.
3. There have been incidents of Muslim terrorists using Hindu names before. Shariq, the terrorist who carried out the blasts in Mangaluru in October 2022, adopted the Hindu name ‘Premraj’.
4. On 1st March 2024, there was an explosion in Rameswaram Cafe in the afternoon. 9 people were injured in this blast.
