New Delhi – “For the past 4 years, the Indian Army has been keeping an eye on the border dispute with China in eastern Ladakh. Our preparedness levels are of very high order. Indian troops are deployed along the entire Line of Actual Control (3,488 km border)”, said Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande at a news channel event here.

General Pande further said that we have discussed the situation in eastern Ladakh at military and diplomatic level. So far 21 rounds of discussions have been held. The current problem can only be resolved through dialogue.

The risk is slightly different in summer as compared to winter. All I can say is that our preparedness levels are of very high order with respect to our northern adversary, like our western adversary. We have also ensured that we have adequate reserves in terms of dealing with contingencies. We have our response mechanism firmly in place.
