Pasture of Baba Budan Swamy Dargah caught fire during Urus in Chikkamagaluru

Demand for inquiry from pro-Hindu organisations

(Urus means a festival organised on the death anniversary of a Muslim cleric)

Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka) – A fire broke out in the forest pasture of Baba Budan Swamy Dargah. It is said that the fire broke out here when the Muslims were cooking in a tent during Urus. Two tents were burnt. Despite the instructions of the district administration that cooking should not be done in the forest reserve, cooking was done in disregard.

Leaders of pro-Hindu organisations have demanded that action should be taken against those concerned in this case. Baba Budan Swami Dargah is a temple of Hindu Deity Datta and Muslims have encroached on it. This has been going on for decades.
