Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – The Special MP-MLA Court in Lucknow directed the Wazirganj Police station to register a First Information Report (FIR) against Swami Prasad Maurya, the leader of the Samajwadi Party for hurting Hindus’ sentiments by making derogatory statements about Goddess Lakshmi. The investigation into the ex-general secretary of the Samajwadi Party for his remarks to the media and on social media was ordered by Special Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ambrish Kumar Srivastava. A petition was filed against Maurya demanding the filing of a charge sheet against him.

On the day of Lakshmi-puja in the last Diwali, people performed Lakshmi-puja at their homes when Maurya performed puja of his wife, and posted a comment about his performing such puja and honouring her, along with posting a few photos on X. He wrote, “On the occasion of the festival of lights, while worshipping and honouring my wife, I want to emphasise that every child born in the world, regardless of religion, caste, race, colour, or country, is born with two hands, two feet, two ears, two eyes, a nose with two nostrils, and one head, stomach, and back.” Mocking Shri Lakshmi, he added, “A child with four hands, eight hands, ten hands, twenty hands, or a thousand hands has never been born. So how can a four-handed Lakshmi be born ? (Hindus make such ridiculous statements due to the lack of education on Dharma and even spread perverted opinions amongst people. – Editor) If you truly want to worship Goddess Lakshmi, honour and worship the women in your households who are the true embodiment of the goddess. They faithfully fulfil the responsibilities of nurturing and caring for the family’s well-being, prosperity, sustenance, and overall welfare.” (Maurya is performing puja of his wife as Goddess Lakshmi and, on the other hand, denigrating Shri Lakshmi by making such statements. – Editor)

Editorial Perspective

Hindus’ Deities are openly denigrated. Why doesn’t any Government, Administration and Police take note of it on their own ? Hindus are tolerant and law-abiding citizens; therefore, they demand legal action, but fanatic Muslims take the law into their own hands and resort to violence, after which Police take action against the persons who denigrate objects of worship.
