Research will be conducted on the effects of ‘Havan’ smoke on diseases caused by bacteria

A patent has been secured by a college in Ajmer, Rajasthan, for Havan ingredients

Ajmer (Rajasthan) – The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has obtained a patent for materials related to Havan rituals after conducting research on its effects. This groundbreaking study, conducted by the Department of Microbiology at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer, focused on the “Effect of Havan medicinal smoke on viruses,” marking the first of its kind. Dr Vijayalata Rastogi, the department head, announced that materials and medicines used in Havan have been patented, highlighting its effectiveness in treating diseases caused by bacteria. Further research will delve into this promising area.

1. Recent research on ‘Havan’ has revealed that the smoke and aroma act as a remedy for bacterial diseases. The materials and medicines used in Havan have been found to destroy bacteria in the surrounding environment, while also enhancing the individual’s immune system.

2. Yajna therapy, an ancient medical system described in the Vedas, operates on subtle levels. When Havan is performed with medicinal ingredients and specific mantras, the smoke enters the body through the nostrils, mouth, and nose, exerting profound effects on health and well-being.

3. In Tibet, ailments such as colds, migraines, headaches, epilepsy, and heart and lung issues are still treated with the smoke of medicinal herbs. The smoke from Yajna purifies indoor environments, eliminating 90% of airborne germs, including mosquitoes. Many ancient pilgrimage sites continue to perform daily Yajnas in ashrams, highlighting its enduring relevance and effectiveness.

Editorial Perspective

In ancient times, sages possessed profound knowledge in this regard. It is commendable that such research is underway in India now. The Government should indeed promote and support such endeavours.
