(‘Pre-wedding shooting’ means filming done by the bride and groom before their wedding)

Doctors need to have some ethics and respect towards their noble profession

‘Pre-wedding shooting’ in the operation theatre (in OT)

Chitradurga, Karnataka – A doctor at Bharamsagar Government Hospital has been dismissed for a ‘pre-wedding shoot’ in the operation theatre (OT). The doctor recorded a video of himself performing surgery with his soon-to-be spouse, and the footage was subsequently circulated on social media. Notably, individuals involved in the shoot, including cameramen and technicians, were observed laughing during the incident.

The Minister of Health, Dinesh Gundu Rao, strongly condemned the doctor’s behaviour, emphasising that such rudeness will not be tolerated. In a post on X, a social media platform, he asserted that Government hospitals are dedicated to the well-being of the people, not for personal activities. The doctor who conducted a pre-wedding shoot in an operation theatre has been dismissed. Minister Rao urged all healthcare professionals, including contract staff, to adhere to the rules of Government service in the health department.

The operation theatre, where the pre-wedding shoot took place, has been closed for several months, according to Chitradurga District Health Officer Renu Prasad. Dr Abhishek, the doctor involved in this incident, had recently been appointed as a medical officer under the National Health Mission a month ago. The operation theatre has been out of operation since September, and ongoing repair work is being conducted at the facility.
