Four students died, 60 got injured in the stampede at Cochin University

Stampede due to sudden crowd at the venue of the annual function

Kochi (Kerala) – Four students died, and 60 were injured in the stampede at the annual function of Cochin University. Two young boys and two young girls died, informed the State Health Minister Veena George. Two of the injured are serious. The dead have not been identified so far. Police are investigating the case.

During the function, when singer Nikita Gandhi was performing in the stadium, there was a sudden increase in the crowd. Some outsiders also were there along with students. Sudden rain brought more outsiders inside for shelter, leading to the stampede.
