New Delhi – The Israel and Hamas war has been on for a month now. Hamas has taken 240 Israelis as hostages. As Diwali approaches in India, Israel’s Ambassador Naor Gilon has urged Indians to light a ‘Diya of Hope’ for the hostages held by Hamas since the 7th October assault on their country.

Drawing a comparison, Gilon, in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) said that as Shriram’s return is celebrated on Diwali by lighting Diyas, a Diya (lamp) must be lit in the hope of having our loved ones return home.

Editorial Perspective

The Indian Hindus will do this for the Israeli hostages, but they should also do something for the protection of the Hindus residing for the past 7 decades in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kashmir too.
