Chennai – Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, made remarks at the Sanatana Abolition Conference on 2nd September, comparing the Sanatan Dharma to diseases like Dengue, Malaria, and COVID. He said, “Sanatan Dharma opposes social justice and equality. Few things cannot be opposed, that should be eradicated only. We can’t oppose Dengue, Mosquitoes, Malaria or Corona. We have to eradicate these. Similarly, we have to eradicate Sanatana.”

Several other leaders, including the Deputy Chief Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports in the State, were also present at this event. State Minister for Human Resources Development PK Sekarbabu was also a participant.

I am not afraid of ‘Saffron’ threats

On ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), ‘Legal Rights Observatory’ has expressed the intention to take legal action against Udhayanidhi Stalin for his remarks. Udhayanidhi responded to this tweet by saying, “Bring it on. I am ready to face any legal challenge. We will not be cowed down by such usual saffron threats. We, the followers of Periyar, Anna, and Kalaignar, would fight forever to uphold social justice and establish an egalitarian society under the able guidance of our Chief Minister MK Stalin,” Udhayanidhi Stalin said. “I will say it today, tomorrow and forever — our resolve to stop Sanatana dharma from the Dravidian land would not reduce even a bit,” he further said.

Did this decision come in the ‘India Alliance’ meeting ? – BJP

BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted, “Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamilnadu CM MK Stalin, and a minister in the DMK Govt, has linked Sanatana Dharma to malaria and dengue… He is of the opinion that it must be eradicated and not merely opposed. In short, he is calling for genocide of 80% population of Bharat, who follow Sanatan Dharma.

The BJP’s Tamil Nadu state president, Annamalai, stated that Udhayanidhi Stalin’s views stem from the fact that he and his thoughts have been influenced by Christian missionaries.

BJP bears responsibility for introducing religion into politics – Congress

Congress leader Rashid Alvi said, “Our state governance is secular. People of all religions live in our country. However, for the past nine years, the BJP has been indulging in religious politics. Therefore, anyone speaks anything against Dharma. The statement made is incorrect. However, BJP is responsible for bringing religion into politics.” (This is called ‘Bark up the wrong tree’ – Editor)

In response to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comments, Maharashtra Congress state president Nana Patole said, “It is clear that we do not want to criticise any religion, and we do not want to hurt anyone’s sentiments.”

Sanatan Dharma has been in existence for ages! – Acharya Satyendra Das

Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Temple, stated that Sanatan Dharma cannot be destroyed at any cost.

Sanatan Dharma has been in existence for ages and will continue to exist. Udhayanidhi’s understanding of Sanatan Dharma is flawed, and what he is saying is incorrect.

This complaint has been submitted in opposition to the event, and further action is awaited. Hindu nationalist lawyer Mutharasu has assisted in filing this complaint.

Editorial Viewpoints

  • By making such hilarious statements, Udhayanidhi Stalin is attempting to accomplish what the Mughals could not achieve ! He should eradicate diseases like Dengue, Malaria, and COVID first and then speak about Sanatan Dharma (Hindu religion).
  • Please note that Stalin does not dare to make statements such as – We will take harsh measures against jihadist terrorism, eliminate jihadis, destroy the religion of Jihadis.
  • Please note that Dravidian leaders do not make statements about finishing Sri Lanka for the genocide of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
  • In Tamil Nadu, the Sanatana Abolition Conference is convened with the presence of State ministers. Is this their commitment to secularism ? Do the political parties that claim to be guardians of the Constitution accept this ?
