Religious fanatic pressurised Principal from accepting awareness memorandum

Hindu Janajagruti Samiti attempted to give an awareness memorandum regarding respecting the honour of National Flag in the Government School

Madikeri (Karnataka) – Some devout Hindus went to the Government Higher Secondary School in Napoklu here on 10th August to give a statement on ‘Respect the National Flag’. At this time, a religious fanatic member of the School Improvement Committee was sitting next to the Principal. He became angry when he saw the title ‘Hindu Janajagruti Samiti for the establishment of Hindu Rashtra’ on the letter. He said, this is a Government school and there is no place for such things here. Then the devout Hindu said, “This is a matter of maintaining the honour of the National Flag. It is essential for children.” The religious fanatic member said, ‘We have teachers with ‘D Ed’ (Diploma in Education) degrees. We don’t need it and pressurised the Principal from accepting the statement. Therefore, the Principal did not accept the statement.

The religious fanatic did not stop there but he telephoned the Principal of neighbouring school and also pressurised him as well from accepting a statement from Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.

Editorial viewpoint

There have been two incidents of this type since the Congress Government came to power in Karnataka. This shows that while India is a secular country, Islamic rule has come to Congress-ruled Karnataka. Is this acceptable to the Hindus who elected the Congress ?
