We reject the freedom under which Muslims are harassed

Statement of Maulana Abdurrahman Jamai in madarasa speech on Independence Day at Hardoi (UP)

Hardoi (UP) – Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August in madarasa of Lal Pir Mosque at Gopamau of the Hardoi District. The speech given by Maulana Abdurrahman Jami at that time has gone viral on social media. In it, Maulana says, “We don’t want freedom in which Muslims are harassed. We reject it”. The Superintendent of Police said that the video will be investigated and action will be taken against Maulana.

We want religious freedom

In the speech, Maulana Jamai further says, “cases are being filed for Azaan through loudspeakers on mosques. Attempts are being made to modify the ‘Muslim Personal Law’. What type of democracy is this ? What type of freedom is this ? This is intrusion into the religious affairs of Muslims. We want religious freedom”. (Please note that in secular India, majority of Hindus do not have as much religious freedom as Muslims have, yet Muslims are not satisfied – Editor)
