Shahnawaj, who married a Hindu woman pretending to be a Hindu, arrested

Ayodhya (UP) – Shahnawaj, a Muslim from Ayodhya, pretended to be a Hindu and married a Hindu woman named Malati. The woman is a widow with two sons. A few days after their marriage, Shahnawaj tried to circumcise her 2 sons. Learning that her husband is a Muslim, she filed a complaint with the Police. Police have arrested the culprit registering a case against him under the anti-conversion law.

The lady was residing in Mumbai with her husband and two sons. After the death of her husband, she became friendly with Shahnawaj who was residing nearby. He lied that he was a Hindu named Dilip. Thereafter, they got married at a Temple in Mumbai.

When she came to his family home at Bhaggu Jalalpur in Ayodhya he forced her to marry him in an Islamic ceremony and told her that she would have to now live according the Islamic custom.

The Hindu woman, realising that she has been tricked and cheated, immediately filed a complaint with the Police. Police took the culprit into custody and began an investigation into the crime. The woman is at present residing with her parents in Gorakhpur.
