Maulana issues fatwa against saluting the National Flag and singing National Anthem in Gujarat 

(Fatwa means a decision given on an issue according to Islamic Law by an authority of Islam or an organisation)

Porbandar (Gujarat) – Maulana Hafiz Wasif Raza has issued a fatwa that Muslims can hoist National Flag but they should neither bow to the flag nor sing the National Anthem. A video about this is going viral on social media. On circulation of this video some Muslim youth have opposed Raza. They said such fatwa was against Islam. They added further that Islam asks us to be loyal to the nation.

After this video of Maulana, Nagina Masjid, Porbandar and Darul Ulum Gaushe Azam Trust, lodged an FIR with Police saying that because of this video many have threatened to beat us up and kill us.

A few Muslim youth have said that fatwa is wrong and Maulana’s order is incorrect. In their accusation, they said, “some Muslims are troubling us because we have opposed Maulana. Along with this, efforts are on to throw us out of the community.

After the complaints by Nagina Masjid Porbandar and Darul Ulum Gaushe Azam, Shakeel Yunus Qadri (25), Imtiyaz Harun Sipahi (31) and Sohil Ibrahim Parmar (26), consumed phenyl while making a video of their sufferings.

Bhagirathsinh Jadeja, Superintendent of Police (SP) has said that an investigation is going on.
