New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for a 3 days state visit to the US on the US President Joe Biden’s invitation. Modi is the third Indian Prime Minister till date to be invited by the US for a state visit. Earlier in 1963, President Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and in 2009, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh were invited by the US for a state visit. Prime Minister Modi will participate in 10 programmes in 3 days.

On 21st June, he will perform Yoga in New York on the occasion of the Yoga Day. Defence, technology, strategic and commercial agreements will be signed between India and the US during this visit. Prime Minister Modi will also meet the CEOs of 20 US companies.
Before leaving for the US, Prime Minister Modi tweeted that ‘India and the US are partners in the fields of science, technology, health and defence. We are working together to free the Indo-Pacific’.
