Naxals plan Pulwama-like destructive attack on Police

Information obtained during the interrogation of radical Naxals

Nagpur (Maharashtra) – The Naxals’ plan of carrying out a similar attack against the Police as was done in Pulwama, has been exposed. A radical Naxal was nabbed by the Police in a neighbouring State of Maharashtra. During his interrogation, the above information has been obtained.

1. In the information given by a Naxal to the Police from Telangana State, he admitted to the preparation of their plan for creating special ‘directional mines’.

2. The plan of carrying explosives in boxes, in tractors or big vehicles like ‘Bolero’, and exploding them at the armed Police stations in remote places, was exposed during the interrogation.

3. The arrested Naxal also disclosed the plan of attack using loaded drones.

4. Naxals have used drones even earlier for spying on the Police at Gadchiroli and other places in Chhattisgarh, but now, they are working on a plan of attacking Police through drones. Earlier, drones were used to attack Srinagar airport in Kashmir in a similar manner; therefore, the Police  in the States of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana along with Maharashtra, have become vigilant.

5. Maoists are trying to exchange their stock of currency in Rs 2,000 notes after the decision of withdrawing the currency notes was declared. Two Naxal supporters were nabbed at Ranjangaon while exchanging Rs 2,000 notes worth Rs 6 lakhs. It has also been found during their interrogation that the Maoists were pressurising the local contractors and traders for exchange of Rs 2,000 notes.

6. It has been found that the aides of Naxals from Shergarh in Chhattisgarh State have been sending money for the Naxal movement from Todgatta in Etapalli taluka in Gadchiroli District. Every Police  station in Gadchiroli District has, therefore, been alerted.
