Hindu man who married a Muslim woman killed by woman's family

Khandwa (MP) – A Hindu man and a Muslim woman from Khandwa were in love and got married. Recently, the woman’s family beat up the man inhumanly which has resulted in his death. Police have arrested 2 individuals in this matter. The Police are accused of negligence in this case.

Jitendra, a.k.a. Raju Saini from Sikar District of Rajasthan came to Khandwa for work 3 years ago. He worked at a restaurant and met Amrin with whom he fell in love. They got married despite their family’s opposition. The couple went to Sikar after marriage. Amrin’s family registered a missing Police complaint about her. Police started searching for Amrin and found her in Sikar. Amrin had become the mother of a baby girl by that time. The Police took Amrin into custody and later to the Court where Amrin stated that she was an adult and wanted to live with Raju. The Court allowed them to live together.

After a few days, as Amrin wanted to meet her parents, Raju took her to her parents’ house. Later when Raju went to Amrin’s parents’ house to bring her back, he was shown the way out by her family. Raju filed a case in the local Police station which was ignored by the Police. On 13th May 2023, Raju went to Amrin’s parents’ house again and asked her family to send Amrin and his daughter with him. Raju’s in-laws beat him up inhumanly, due to which he had to be admitted to the hospital. He died on 16th May. As per Khandwa’s SP Satyendra Kumar, a case of murder has been registered against Raju’s in-laws including his mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother-in-law. The Police are investigating further.
