Amritsar (Punjab) – Head of ‘Waris Punjab De’ organisation Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, in an exclusive interview with India Today, said Khalistan is not a taboo and the demand is being made to end suffering. He said Khalistan sentiment will remain and one could not suppress it.

1. “Nationalism is not sacred. Democracy should have different views. It is not about Amritpal,” he said in the interview.
2. Amritpal Singh said, “I am not going to sacrifice my dignity. I am not violent. It is not the first thing on my mind. There are conspiracy theories floating about me. Some say I am backed by the BJP and then others say by Pakistan. I am only backed by my Guru sahibs. No one is backing me apart from my sangat. I am not part of the political system, but this FIR is a part of the media trial.”
3. When asked about his comparison with Bhindranwale, he said, ”This is my normal attire. It is not based on Bhindranwale.”
4. “We will not choose violence. I know violence will damage us more. I am under no illusions. But I won’t sit and let them kill us.”
