Voting for Assembly election in Tripura on 16th February, in Nagaland and Meghalaya on 27th February

All the results to be declared on 2nd March

News Delhi – Assembly elections of Tripura, have been declared on 16th February and in Meghalaya and Nagaland on 27th February. The results will be declared on 2nd March.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that, 9125 polling stations have been opened in these States. Compared with polling booths in 2018, 82% more have been opened in village areas. He also said that 376 polling stations in these three States will be managed by women. There were more than 62.8 lakh electors combined in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura including 31.47 lakh female electors, 97,000 were 80+ voters and 31,700 PWD voters. Over 1.76 lakh first-time voters are eligible to participate in the elections in three States, said Kumar.

By January 2024, nine States will have elections

Elections in Karnataka might be held in April or May. The Meghalaya Assembly is completing its tenure on 17th December 2023. Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Telangana will complete theirs in January 2024. Therefore, 9 States might have elections till January 2024.
