New Delhi – Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena of Delhi ordered the Delhi administration to recover Rs. 97 crores from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) since Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal utilised the Government’s money for his party’s advertisements. The party has been given a time limit of 15 days for payment. Saxena has accused Kejriwal of publishing political advertisements as Government advertisements.

In August 2016, Delhi High Court set up a three-member committee on this issue. The committee submitted its report on the 16th of September 2016 wherein AAP was found guilty.

Editorial viewpoint

Such parties should be banned for using people’s money for their own political interests ! AAP was formed to fight against corruption, but AAP itself is involved in corrupt practices; therefore, it cannot stop corruption as is clear from this case !
