‘You will destroy the country’; SC slams Punjab Govt !

Supreme Court reprimanded the AAP Government in Punjab over illegal country liquor !

New Delhi – The Supreme Court reprimanded the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab Government for the rampant production and sale of illegal country liquor in the State, stating that the State’s drug and alcohol problem is a major concern. ‘You will destroy the country. If the border of the country is not secure, how will the country function ? You have to put a leash on bad things’, said the Supreme Court. Many people are dying due to country liquor in the State. The top Court reprimanded the Government while hearing a petition filed in this regard. ‘The responsibility of the local Police should be fixed. Submit a detailed affidavit in this regard’, the Court ordered.

The Court further observed that drugs and alcohol is a serious problem in Punjab. The Punjab Government is only filing cases and no further action is being taken in any of the cases while there are liquor distilleries in every part of the State. This is very alarming and dangerous. You need to conduct an awareness campaign in this regard with the seized money. Punjab is a border State; if someone wants to finish the country, they would start with the borders. So, it is very unfortunate to happen in a border State like Punjab. Youths are easy to target, hence need to be more careful in this regard.
