Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – Despite knowing man is married if a woman keeps physical relations with him, it does not constitute rape. The physical relationship between a man and woman is therefore one of love and passion. The Kerala High Court ruled while hearing a case that the lure of marriage does not qualify as rape.

In this case, the Court clarified this while rejecting the rape charge levelled against the petitioner. A 33-year-old man filed a petition to quash the charge of rape by luring into marriage. According to the hearing, the young woman knew her friend was already married. Even after that, both of them continued their relationship. In addition, the young man’s relationship with the woman continued after he got divorced.
