Islamic countries warn Netflix
Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) – The participating countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) issued an official statement warning that Netflix should stop broadcasting anti-Islam content or face legal action. The countries include Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. Netflix has yet to comment on the matter.

1. The telecast of ‘Lightyear’ a series by Disney and Hotstar, was banned in 2022. It featured two homosexuals kissing. Homosexuality is a crime in Islamic countries.
2. A series on Netflix was blocked, in 2019, as it criticised the Government of Saudi Arabia.
