Hindus lured for conversion at Lakhimpur Kheri (Uttar Pradesh) : Two arrested

Lakhimpur Kheri (UP) – The residents of the Daulatpur village of Lakhimpur Kheri District have alleged that Christian missionaries were luring Hindus for conversion. Two persons have been arrested in this connection.

1. A programme was organised by Christian missionaries on the 19th of August 2022 for converting Hindus at the house of Dayaram, a resident of this village.

2. ‘Gram Pradhan’ and residents have accused that the Christian missionaries came from Punjab for the purpose.

3. The programme started with playing devotional songs; followed by holding a lecture related to Christianity and then the participants were asked to adopt Christianity.

4. The residents have also accused that people were lured by promising them to remove their ailments on conversion. Such programmes are being held for the last 7 months; due to which 3-4 residents have already converted.

5. The Police, Tehsildar, and officers reached the place of the incident after receiving the information from the residents. The people participating in the programme ran away when they saw the Police and others. Later, the Police arrested two persons for organising the programme without proper permission.
