Just one mistake can lead the world to destruction : António Guterres, Secretary-General of UN

Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres

New York (US) – Just one mistake can lead the world to destruction. All countries in the whole world are engaged in enhancing their demand and capacity of Nuclear Weapons. This should be stopped immediately. Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres has appealed to the countries producing and possessing Nuclear Weapons to revert a step back. He was addressing the conference of ‘Treaty on the non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons’.

He said further that many countries had signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty since 1970 to this date; but Israel, North Korea, India and Pakistan have not signed the treaty as yet. They all possess Nuclear Weapons. There has been no nuclear attack since that on Japan in 1945. For that, we should be grateful to our fate and not for our efforts to stop the discord. The world should never forget the nuclear attack on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. We all need to learn a lesson from that. Currently, competition appears to be gaining a high hand over friendship and trust between all countries, they seem to compete with one another. Internal dialogue seems to be disappearing. All countries are spending millions in the production of disastrous weapons.
