Kanhaiyalal murder case

Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas

Jaipur (Rajasthan) – ‘The barbarous act has made me angry since yesterday. The accused must be hanged within four days’, said Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, a minister in the Congress Government in Rajasthan. He was speaking on 28th June regarding the beheading of Kanhaiyalal by two jihadis, Riyaz Ansari and Mohammad Gaus. The two have been arrested by the Police. A few days back, Kanhaiyalal’s 8-year-old son had posted a post in support of Nupur Sharma on social media. Kanhaiyalal was arrested by the Police for it. Yet the jihadis were threatening to kill him. He had also lodged a complaint with the Police seeking protection. (If Kanhaiyalal had sought protection, why did the Police not grant it ? Will the Congress Government of Rajasthan investigate the concerned Police officials and take action against them ? – Editor)

He had also kept his tailoring shop closed due to the threat. Kanhaiyalal was killed 10 days later, when he opened the shop on 28th June.

Hang the culprits, Kanhaiyalal’s wife demands

The accused should be hanged, demanded Kanhaiyalal’s wife. ‘Today they have killed my husband. Tomorrow they will kill someone else’, she said.
