Forthcoming State Assembly elections in Jammu-Kashmir
Srinagar (Jammu-Kashmir) – BJP has been preparing to take up the issue of freeing Sharada Peetha in Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) for contesting the forthcoming State Assembly elections in Jammu-Kashmir. Kashmiri Hindus have immense faith in Sharada Peetha and for many years, they have been demanding the construction of a highway for going to Sharada Peetha. Sharada Peetha is just 10 km away from Kupwara District’s border with Pakistan.
BJP Yuva Morcha’s Vice President Rinku Chaudhari said that in 1994, a resolution was passed in the then Parliament to free PoK. It is, therefore, BJP’s resolve to satisfy the demands, be it the construction of a highway for going to Sri Sharada Peetha for performing ‘puja’ or freeing PoK.
