An appeal to gather evidence adequate for a judicial fight for Goa’s temples that were destroyed

A Country-wide movement by Hindus the rebuilding the Temples destroyed by the invaders

Ramnathi (Goa) – The Mughals, Portuguese, and other invaders destroyed not just the Shri Rama Mandir, Kashi, Mathura, Kutub Minar, Tajmahal, and Bhojshala, but thousands of Temples all over the Country. India became Independent, but the ancient Hindu Temples stayed under the same condition of enslavement by foreign rulers. Hence a resolve was made to start a countrywide movement to rebuild the temples destroyed by the invaders, on behalf of all the temple committees, devotees, Priests, and Hindu laity.

The Lawyers on the 2nd day of the 10th Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Rashtra Adhiveshan resolved that if evidence was found about the destruction of the temples in Goa, they will take up the matter in court. For this the Goans should give the Hindu Janjagruti Samiti proofs that they have about the destruction of the ancient Temples in Goa, was the appeal made in the press conference held at Shri Ramnathi Devasthan’s Vidyadhiraj Hall (Phonda Goa) on 13th June.

We promise to rebuild these Temples and re-establish India’s Traditional Culture – Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain

At this time Advocate, Vishnu Shankar Jain said the following points will be the centre of an investigation in our movement of rebuilding these temples.

These will be, the traditional importance of the disputed site, historical proof of the destruction of the temple, the proofs and the laws will be examined. After the examination, if it proves that the temple was demolished, we will begin the legal battle to rebuild the Temples. Presently many disputed sites are under the jurisdiction of the archaeological department, and this department is going against the 1958 act section 16. As true Hindus, we take a vow to rebuild these temples and re-establish India’s Cultural Tradition.

Prof Subhash Velingkar

The Hindu devotees should come together and fight against the invaders – Prof Subhash Velingkar

Mr Subhash Velingkar, Goa States Sanghchalak of the ‘Bharat Mata ki Jaya’, said that in the period Goa was under the Portuguese, more than one thousand temples were destroyed.  These two temples were saved from the church’s aggression. Of these one is at Vrenyapuri (Verna) and the other is Shri. Durga Devi temple. This temple is declared to be protected under the jurisdiction of the archaeological department, still, there is a conspiracy of the church to acquire the temple land. Hindu devotees will have to unite and fight this attack.
