Muslim men should not marry three women

Guwahati (Assam) – Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked the Muslim men not to marry three women and not to give talaq but to file for divorce legally. They will be happy if they marry only once and have only 2 children. He also has suggested that the girls should get an equal share in the property as the sons get. The wife also should get a 50% share in it.

Editorial viewpoint

No one will be abiding by calling upon people like this; for that Sarma should tell the Central Government to pass the Uniform Civil Code, Population Control Act and Anti-conversion Act at the earliest.
