If this is the case, what level has the corruption in the Government Departments must have reached ! Why shouldn’t such officials be immediately dismissed and sentenced to life imprisonment as punishment ?

Sasaram (Bihar) – A gang of thieves, impersonating State Government officials, stole an abandoned 60-foot long steel bridge in Bihar recently. According to the Police, this 500-tonne bridge was constructed in the Amiyawar village in the vicinity of Nasriganj Police station in 1972. The gang members uprooted the 500-tonne steel bridge using gas-cutters and earthmovers in 3 days and stole the bridge’s scrap material.

Till the locals realised this incident and informed the Police, the thieves fled the spot along with the looted scrap material. ‘This might be done with the assistance of the officers of Water Source Department.’, said Subhash Kumar, the Police inspector of Nasriganj Police station. The Police have filed a complaint about this incident.
