New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over a telephonic call for 35 minutes. The two leaders discussed the evolving situation in Ukraine. PM Modi thanked Zelenskyy for the help provided by the Ukrainian Government in the evacuation of Indian nationals. He further asked for continued support from the Ukrainian Government in ongoing efforts for the evacuation of Indian nationals from Sumy.

In his tweet, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy thanked PM Modi for having a dialogue with him. He tweeted, “Informed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Ukraine countering Russian aggression. India appreciates the assistance to its citizens during the war and Ukraine’s commitment to direct peaceful dialogue at the highest level. Grateful for the support to the Ukrainian people.”

PM Modi had a 50-minute-long conversation with President Putin
After speaking to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, PM Modi had a 50-minute-long conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Modi urged Putin to hold direct talks with Ukrainian President Zelensky. PM Modi also appreciated the announcement of the ceasefire and the establishment of humanitarian corridors in parts of Ukraine. The two leaders also discussed the situation in Ukraine. ANI reported that Putin briefed Modi on the status of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.
