New York (US) – 40 US universities including Wisconsin, Connecticut, California, Florida will teach courses on Jainism. The organisation ‘Federation of Jain Associations in North America’ informed that students can now complete their Ph.D. course in Jainism. Also, plans are being made to introduce diploma courses on non-violence and sattvic diet. Along with the US, Australia, UAE, and some other countries in Asia will also include courses on Jainism. The introduction of these courses in the United States and other countries will cost Rs.450 crore.

The President of ‘Federation of Jain Associations in North America’ Dr Sulekh Jain said that recently the use of words like non-violence, sattvik diet has increased in many countries including the US. Many have shown interest in these principles and to implement these principles. Therefore, they tried to incorporate these courses at various Universities to teach people about Jain Dharma. The US and Canada have a total of 1.5 lakh Jains. They have donated to such projects. Through that more research is being conducted on Jain Dharma. Students also receive scholarships.
