Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai’s opinion on the burqa while she supports wearing hijab in Karnataka
Editorial comment
India should demand the withdrawal of the Nobel Peace Prize for Malala Yousafzai, who conveniently changes her opinion about burqa and hijab ! |
New Delhi – Malala Yousafzai, a young woman from Afghanistan who was injured in a Taliban attack in Afghanistan a few years ago and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, supported the demand of Muslim girls in the hijab case in Karnataka.
“College is forcing us to choose between studies and the hijab”.
Refusing to let girls go to school in their hijabs is horrifying. Objectification of women persists — for wearing less or more. Indian leaders must stop the marginalisation of Muslim women. https://t.co/UGfuLWAR8I

As a result, she is now being criticised on social media with a reference to a book written by her. In the book, Malala says, ‘They (radical Islamists) force women to wear the burqa. Wearing a burqa is like walking inside a big fabric shuttlecock with only a grille to see through and on hot days it’s like an oven. At least I didn’t have to wear one’.
It has been revealed that Malala never wore hijab or burqa when she was studying in college in Britain.
