Delhi Court seeks report from the Police about the action taken

Petition against the editor of ‘Sudarshan TV’ Suresh Chavhanke on the so-called objectionable statement

Shri Suresh Chavhanke, Editor, Sudarshan TV

New Delhi – A petition has been filed against the Editor of ‘Sudarshan TV’ Suresh Chavhanke for making an objectionable speech in a programme held in the Govindpuri area. While hearing the petition the Court has asked for the report concerning the action taken by the Police. The next hearing will be on the 15th March.

This petition has been filed by the president of the ‘Welfare Party of India’ Dr Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas. Umar Khalid who has been arrested in connection with the Delhi riots is Dr Syed’s son. The complaint refers to an event that was organised by the Hindu Yuva Vahini on 19th December 2021. In the said context, the plea alleges that Chavhankhe “seen administering an oath to kill a group to make India a “Hindu Nation”.  So also Chavhanke had said on a tweet that, ‘One dream : Hindu Rashtra’. Hence, it has been claimed in the petition that to say ‘One dream : Hindu Rashtra’, is against the Constitution.
