Mathura Administration imposes Section 144, prohibiting gatherings in Mathura

Alert issued as a result of Hindu Mahasabha’s declaration of installing Shrikrushna’s murti and performing abhishek on 6th December in Idgah mosque on Shrikrushna’s birthplace

Mathura (UP) – Since Hindu Mahasabha declared that on 6th December, they would enter Idgah Masjid situated in Shrikrushna’s birthplace, and install Shrikrushna’s murti and perform abhishek, the Government has imposed Section 144 banning gatherings. On 6th December 1992, the Babri Masjid structure was demolished, hence, the Government has restricted gathering as a precaution.

Police have warned ‘If anyone tries to spread rumours, strict action will be taken against them’. To maintain law and order, the Police Commissioner is in touch with Hindu and Muslim leaders and has erected checkpoints at multiple places.
