Beijing (China) – Jinping was speaking at the conference, which was held with 10 members, President Xi Jinping said China will not seek dominance over Southeast Asia or bully its smaller neighbours, amid ongoing friction over the South China Sea. Xi Jinping spoke at the conference held by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with 10 other members. Chinese coast guard ships blocked two Philippine boats carrying supplies for troops at the coast of the South China Sea and attacked them. Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte highlighted the incident in his remarks at the conference.

Jinping further stated China strongly opposes dictatorship and politics of power and is willing to maintain friendly relations with the neighbouring countries. China wants to unitedly maintain lasting peace in this region.
