New Delhi – “Drugs are a part of the life of everyone. On many occasions, drugs reduce the pain of life. Even though alcohol, tobacco, gutkha cause harm, they are allowed for consumption by paying taxes. Similarly, why are other drugs not allowed ? In many circumstances, drugs have to be taken through medicines. Why the use of drugs should not be allowed in such a situation, if necessary ?” Demanded Congress Rajya Sabha MP KTS Tulsi.

What is the Anti-Narcotics Act ?
The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 prohibits any person from producing or cultivating drugs, buying, selling, carrying, transporting, consuming drugs. If anyone is caught doing this, severe punishment is provisioned under the law.
