Muslim cleric convicted of rape inside Madarasa in Pakistan gets life imprisonment

If Pakistan can punish rapists in such a way, why can’t India ?

Lahore (Pakistan) – A Pakistani Court has sentenced a Muslim cleric named Atik Ur Rehman to life in prison for raping a 12-year-old girl. He has also been fined Rs 2 lakh. The incident took place two years ago in Toba Tek Singh District, 200 km from Lahore.

The victim used to go to the madarasa in her village to study. Rahman’s female colleague Bilkis Bibi had lured the victim into a room, following which, Rahman raped her.
